Orangeism was established in the early 1920's in Ghana, which was formally the British Gold Cost. The first Warrant was issued to the "Pride of Kenta" lodge. However it was not until the Institution spread to the Accra region in 1963 and Anloga a year later that it operated on a country wide basis
The Imperial Council granted Grand Lodge status to Ghana in 1976 when they agreed to issue a Warrant for the Grand Orange Lodge of Ghana.
From 1977 the Order spread more widely with Lodges form in Tema and Ho in 1977, Anyako in 1978, Aghozume in 1979, Peki in 1980, Ada in 1981, Dzodge in 1982, Kpando in 1985 and Dzelukope near Keta in 1988.
The Grand Lodge of Ghana now has 25 Lodges in operation and these Lodges are strongly aligned to the Protestant Churches in Ghana. Church Services with the Sisters and Brethren parading to Church are commonplace.
