at the top of the hall is said to be were the first embryo Orange meeting
took place after the Battle of the Diamond in
1795. On the mantle shelf can be seen lead balls that were found above
the ceiling of the cottage. These lead balls are reported to have been
left over from the battle. Also on the mantle shelf are powder horns were
used to hold the gun powder, used with the lead balls in the old mussle
loader guns.
From this picture below you can see the famous chair were "Dan Winter" is said to have sat, when the discussion about the formation of the Orange Order took place. The chair is of French origin and it is reported to of come with the Winter family when recorded living at the Diamond in 1665.
