Last Saturday Demonstration - Loughgall

This years Royal Black Demonstration in August will
be held in Loughgall on Saturday 26th August. The Host is Summerisland Royal Back District Chapter
No.6 Participants; - Aughnacloy District Chapter Plus, several Preceptories from the South of Ireland
and Co. Fermanagh Arrival Summerisland District is scheduled to arrive at
9.30am, followed by the other Districts until 11.30am. Parade Details The assembly field is on the Ballygassey Road (Armagh
side) of the village with the Demonstration field on the Red Lion Road
(Portadown Side) of the village. There is an Official car park in a
10-acre section of the demonstration field.
There are other official car parks on the Ballymagerney Road that
is adjacent to the parade route. The parade commences at 12.00 noon from Ballygassey
Road and will be headed by Tempo Silver Band with Imperial County and
District Officers. District
Officers will lay a wreath at the war memorial. Traffic Arrangements ü
The
Armagh traffic should proceed along the Portadown Road, Sandymount Road,
Lisheffield Road to the Red Lion Road car parks. ü
Tandragee-Richhill
traffic to proceed along Sandymount Road, Lisheffield Road to Red Lion
Road car parks. ü
Portadown
traffic to proceed out Loughgall Road, Red Lion Road to car parks. ü
Dungannon
and Aughnacloy traffic to proceed down M1 to Junction 13, Loughgall turn
off, then Blackisland Road, Derrycrew Road to car parks on Ballymagerney
Road. Roads within the Demonstration route will be closed
at 10.00am and will re-open at 5.30pm for through traffic. Invalid Car Park - Loughgall Parish Church car
park. Opens 8.00am to 10.00am. Only cars with Official Invalid Passes will
be permitted Special Musical Entertainment Killen Pipe Band, Hamiltownbawn Silver Band and
Tempo Silver Band will combine to give a special musical concert in the
Demonstration field at 1.30pm. Platform Proceedings The platform proceedings will commence at 2.15 pm,
chaired by Sir Knight George Anderson Worshipful District Master of
Summerisland District. Sir Knight George Little, Imperial Deputy Grand
Chaplain, assisted by Sir Knight Rev John Batchelor, Imperial Deputy Grand
Chaplain, will conduct a religious service.
The customary Royal Black Resolutions will be
read and proposed by Sir Knight Millar Farr Assistant Sovereign Grand
Master; Sir Knight William Abernethy Imperial Grand Treasurer will second
these. Sir Knight Alan Goody,
Deputy Grand Master of the Provincial Grand Black Chapter of Scotland will
then speak to the resolutions. Catering Ample facilities will be provided in both the
assembly and demonstration fields. Return Parade at 3.30pm from the Demonstration Filed to the Armagh
side of the village. Buses All buses will be parked on the Armagh side of the
