The Society was inaugurated in July 1920 under the auspices of the Grand Orange
Lodge Of England, as a "War Memorial" to the Brethren who gave their

Object
The Society was established for the benevolent and charitable purpose of
affording support to the children of deceased members of the Loyal Orange
Institution of England . However, since the Society obtained charitable
status in March 1998 from the charity Commissioners for England & Wales,
the Society has endeavoured to help and assist not only other children's
charities but also other well deserving causes. This has been the
ambition of the Chairman, Officers and Trustees for many years and we are very
proud of our achievement.
As a Children's Welfare Society we need to acknowledge the
"RIGHTS OF OUR CHILDREN" by making decisions that
affect their needs, and the Orange Institution in 1920, decided that as
a principle, we should give financial assistance to the Orphans of our deceased
members, and so the LOYAL ORANGE ORPHAN SOCIETY was founded. Today, the
Society continues to stress the "RIGHTS OF OUR CHILDREN", to
help and develop his or her own potential within their family and community and
in their upbringing in a Christian Environment within the
reformed faith.
"The Rights Of Our Children include".
