Haypark Temperance L.O.L. 1542

Little is known of this lodge, whose warrant recently lapsed. The lodge was originally raised in Newry as part of No. 8 District Newry around 1823, the first recorded Master being William Mulholland in 1828. The warrant lapsed at some stage after this and was re-issued in 1853 to W. Bro. Hunt Walsh Chambre J.P. resident in Dungannon, who held office as Imperial Grand Treasurer and Deputy Grand Master of Ireland.

On the first of April 1922 the warrant, which had again lapsed at an unknown date, was re-issued to Pro. J. Gibson under the title of Haypark Temperance, when they became domiciled in Ballynafeigh Orange Hall. Among its prominent members were brothers Jim, Albert and David Hutchinson, while their brother Jack served ably in L.O.L. 1018, and also three generations of the Mansell family, W. Bro. Ernest, Edward Mansell senior, his son W. Bro. E. E. Mansell junior and his grandson, W. Bro. Seymour Mansell.
