Primrose Temperance L.O.L. 1203 Since its formation 37 years ago, there have always been Brethren who were willing to take an active part not only in the running of LOL 1203, but also in that of our District and County Lodges, as well as that of Grand Lodge. This can be seen by the evident wealth of experience displayed at our Lodge meetings. For example, our Lodge can boast a past District Master, not to mention the current District Secretary and Treasurer. We also can count amongst our membership 2 brethren, W· Bros. Chapman PM and Kerr PM who have served our District for a combined total of over 126 years and have not let the fact that they are now Honorary Members stop them from laking part in our Lodge meetings. We suffered a great loss in January this year with the death of Bro. John Bell PM who, at the age of 94, was our oldest member. Brother John had been a member of our Order for over 70 years having joined in 1928 while working in Canada. Our sympathy goes to his family circle. In Memoriam W.Bro John Bell PM, Died 10th January 1999. Brother John joined our Order in November 1928 while working in Canada, thus giving over 70 years sewice to our Institution He celebrated his 94th birthday just before Christmas and although housebound, was kept up to date on Lodge affairs by Brother French PM who paid weekly visits to Brother Bell 's home. This Brother was held in the Highest esteem by all who knew him and was an example of what an Orangeman should be. He will be sadly missed. William Welsh PM, Secretary |
