The Orange Order is an organization that was founded in 1795 in Loughgall, Northern Ireland. It was founded to promote, and protect the Protestant Religion. Today, members can be found all over the world, in Ireland, Australia, Canada, Ghana, England, New Zealand, Canada, Scotland and many more.

This Junior Lodge was founded in February 1987 in the village of Loughgall and operates under the authority of the Junior Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland. Its membership started at 20 and has risen over the past ten years.

The Junior Orange, commonly referred to as the 'Juniors', exists for the sons of Orangemen and their friends. Membership is open to boys, being Protestant, from 7 years of age until 16 years.

The purpose of the Junior Lodges is to Preserve and Promote our Protestant cultural identity and way of life and to prepare those in our ranks for membership into the Loyal Orange Institution on attaining their sixteenth  birthday.  Every Lodge meeting we have (once a month) is in fact a service of worship to God.  We also encourage our members to attend church regularly and we parade to church twice a year as a lodge.

Every Member of the Institution has certain Qualifications to follow - THE QUALIFICATIONS OF AN ORANGEMANOf Course in such a large organization such as the Orange Order with thousands of members all over the world not every member will be faithful to these qualifications but 99.9% of members are.

What do we do?
In addition to formal Lodge meetings which are conducted in a business like fashion the Junior Lodges compete in a number of Competitions throughout the Year. Some of these demand many hours of study and the Superintendents do an excellent job in this regard.

The Competitions are in Lecturing, Scripture, Football/Soccer, General Knowledge Quiz. Sponsorship is always sought to defray costs and to ensure the boys are rewarded for their time and effort.  Every year our lodge travels across to Glasgow in Scotland, to see our beloved Glasgow Rangers.

In addition our Junior Counties holds an Annual Demonstration or Parade in Bangor, Northern Ireland, and on occasions visit our associates in England and Scotland with whom we have close contacts.
