We urge all Unionist representatives to use all your influence and power to see a swift end to this sham that the Parades Commission has something to offer the people of Northern Ireland. Nationalism has been indulged and pampered for too long, their elected representatives only had to make a suggestion and heaven and earth were moved to accommodate their wishes. We do not seek anything other than a level playing field in respect of cultural expression, it’s time the Commission heard the final whistle. We desire nothing but equality of treatment; allowing the Parades Commission extra time via a listening exercise by Paul Goggins will simply delay the building of a shared future and cause more misery for your constituents.
We ask all attending the St. Andrews talks to articulate that the ‘Parades Commission must go now’, and not to be fobbed off with empty promises of ‘future gains for movement now’; stand resolute until there is an unambiguous message from the Government that the Parades Commission has no role in the future of Northern Ireland. This matter is urgent and foundational to a credible political solution, we support what many Unionist politicians have already committed too, there can be no political progress until the issue of the Parades Commission has been addressed satisfactorily.
Wishing you wisdom, patience, fortitude and God’s richest blessings as you seek to represent the Unionist position.
Yours in the Cause
Dawson Bailie
