The following text is taken
from the minutes of Comber District Loyal Orange Lodge No15 Co. Down on
6th January 1997. It relates to the very high esteem in which the late
Rev William Frame was held ;-
"Bereavements : Rt. Wor.
Bro. Rev. William Frame of Comber True Blues LOL 1035.
The WDM remarked that this was indeed a solemn moment in the history of
this District and listed the many attributes and various offices he had
held throughout all the Loyal Orders. The WDM also stated that his presence
would be sorely missed at all levels of the Institution, and none more
so than Comber District. On behalf of the District he expressed his condolences
to all the family circle and to Comber True Blues LOL 1035. The guest
visitors also paid tribute to the fine example set by Wor. Bro. Rev. Frame
and was held in high esteem throughout the Institution.
On 1st July 2000, a specially commissioned portrait of the late Rev. William
Frame was unveiled in Comber Orange Hall. In attendance along with our
late Bro`s wife and family, were many dignitaries from Orange, Black and
Apprentice Boys Orders along with ordinary rank and file members. The
Hall was packed to capacity with around 200 people attending.
Rev. Frames wife, Mrs. E. Frame, performed the unveiling of the portrait
while the Grand Master of the Loyal Orange Institution, Most Wor. Bro.
Robert Saulters, gave a short speech. District Master of Comber Orange
District LOL No15, Wor. Bro. Brian Hunter, gave a moving speech and was
visibly affected himself which left hardly a dry eye in the whole hall.
The late Bro. Rev. William Frame may be gone from our midst but he will
never be forgotten.
All the lodges within the
District also expressed their thoughts at this time. The WDM requested
the Brethren to stand as a token of respect while the Lay-Chaplain Wor.
Bro. Fred Parker read the obituary prayer." |
